Ayodhya, India – The city of Ayodhya found itself enveloped in religious fervor as the long-awaited Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla took place on Monday, marking a historic moment in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, and an assembly of around 7,000 VVIPs from various walks of life. The consecration event, held at the newly constructed Ram Mandir, saw the culmination of years of anticipation and a grand celebration of faith.

Crafted with precision by sculptor Arun Yogiraj from Mysuru, the 51-inch-tall idol of Lord Ram stood gracefully on a lotus, capturing the essence of the five-year-old deity. Meticulously carved from a single block of stone, the idol is a testament to the artistic prowess of its creator.

The grandeur of the event was further enhanced by the traditional Nagara architectural style of the Ram Mandir compound. Spanning an impressive 380 feet in the east-west direction and 250 feet in width, with a towering height of 161 feet, the temple’s vertical structure consists of floors, each measuring 20 feet in height. Adorned with 392 pillars and embellished with 44 gates, the temple stands as a majestic tribute to both devotion and architectural excellence.

The Pran Pratishtha ceremony, a significant ritual in the consecration process, was led by Prime Minister Modi, who followed a strict 11-day ‘anushthan,’ sleeping on the floor and adhering to a disciplined routine. Army helicopters added a touch of spectacle to the occasion by showering flower petals on the temple premises during the consecration.

Addressing the gathered devotees in Ayodhya, PM Modi congratulated the nation, stating, “Lord Ram has finally arrived following the wait of centuries. After the patience that we showed for centuries and the sacrifices we made, our Lord Ram has finally arrived.” The prime minister emphasized the historical importance of the occasion and encouraged the people to envision and lay the foundation of an India that transcends the next 1,000 years.

Following the ceremony, PM Modi performed the ‘aarti’ of the Ram Lalla idol inside the sanctum sanctorum, expressing reverence and devotion. Subsequently, he visited the Kuber Tila Shiva temple and unveiled a statue of Jatayu, offering prayers and participating in the ongoing renovation efforts of the ancient Shiv temple.

In a gesture of gratitude, PM Modi showered flower petals upon the dedicated workers who played a vital role in the construction of the Ram Mandir, acknowledging their contribution to the realization of this monumental project. As the city of Ayodhya basks in the glow of this historic event, the Ram Mandir stands not just as a physical structure but as a symbol of collective faith, unity, and the fulfillment of a cherished dream for millions of devotees across the nation.
