In a sombre turn of events, the entertainment world mourns the loss of renowned actor Dinesh Phadnis, widely recognized for his iconic role as Fredericks in the hit Sony TV show CID. The news of his demise was confirmed by his co-star Dayanand Shetty, who revealed that Dinesh succumbed to a liver issue at 12:08 am on Tuesday, marking the end of an era for CID enthusiasts.

Medical Battle and Misinformation

Contrary to earlier speculations of a heart attack, Dayanand Shetty clarified that Dinesh Phadnis was grappling with liver damage, not a cardiac ailment. The actor had been receiving treatment at Mumbai’s Tunga Hospital, where his condition had become critical, ultimately leading to his untimely demise.

Final Farewell

Dinesh Phadnis’s last rites are scheduled to take place at Daulat Nagar Crematorium, Borivali East, today. The entire star cast of CID, the longest-running crime show in Indian television history, has gathered at his residence to pay their respects, highlighting the strong bonds forged during their years of collaboration.

A CID Legacy

Dinesh Phadnis etched his name in the hearts of millions with his portrayal of Fredericks, the affable CID officer, from 1998 to 2018. The show, a beacon of the 1990s and early 2000s television landscape, captivated audiences with its gripping narratives and stellar cast, including Shivaji Satam and Dayanand Shetty.
